In the afternoon, around 19.00 we will depart to Turku, Finland! We will spend the night in cruise so it’s time to enjoy the offerings of the evening (4 bed cabins, ensuite bathrooms). Our cruise offers variety of services, starting from restaurants to bars, cafe, and shopping! An excellent place to collect your energy for the next day and enjoy the sea travel 🙂 and in the morning Finland will be visible on the horizon!

In Rovaniemi, the Arctic Circle runs through Santa Claus Village, located eight kilometers north of the city center, where it is clearly marked. Santa Claus Village in Lapland is a popular place to cross the Arctic Circle: here the line is marked, and you can even get a certificate confirming the feat! (Sounds amazing!)

Photocopies or electronic versions of these documents are not acceptable. Original documents must be presented to board on the bus.
Please do not forget any of the above stated documents! Travellers without valid identity & visa documents will not be allowed to join us! Please consider the fact that your seats will be reserved, therefore in such case we will not be able to refund the paid amount!
Very very very very very disappointing trip. Let me elaborate on each point:
1 – The planned trip got canceled due to less bookings and they gave us the option to choose from the upcoming trips or get a refund. Wish I had chosen the refund option. But we checked and somehow landed on postponing the trip to the next weekend which was the Valentine’s Day week. Nothing wrong here but on the actual day of the trip we came to k ow there are 50+ people for this trip and the bus managed to have somewhat exact seats which made the bus completely crowded.
2 – My pickup was from Frankfurt. 2 days before the trip start date, Uniflucht will provide the details like the pickup time is 9 AM instead of the expected/mentioned 10 AM and we had to change all our travel adjustments overnight.
3 – The minibus arranged for pickup from Frankfurt to Cologne does not come to the correct pickup place. Or rightly to say, the pickup point is not actually a valid pickup point as it is a street address with no place for a bus to stand and passengers to onboard. No driver or bus information is provided by the co-ordinator. The co-ordinator will join the trip from Hamburg, all this while we have to deal with everything ourselves.
4 – Non functioning bus-
The bus is already at full capacity. To top that the heating and AC are never working in sync. It is either too cold or too hot. And the people who sat at the back had no heating making their journey more sufferable.
5 – Lack of planning:
It felt like we are on a tour by ourselves, adhoc plans and taking it as it comes. Where do we have to reach to do which activity and what happens if we are late – none of these things were planned.
6 – Disappointing norther lights:
Instead of going around the darkest hours, the light visit was kept for 3 hours 8 to 11 (like they knew it will be at that time and place). They have a fix place and fix time for the most unpredictable thing. If you’re luck you’ll see else just take the photo with a delusion that the lights are anyways there, we just can’t see them with naked eyes. Put your cam of the night mode and voilà. No chasing the lights, no guide, not going to the remote places from city or making any additional efforts to view the lights.
7 – Compromised stay:
Instead of the lights, it was the hotel that was in a remote area. It was a 2 star hotel and moments before reaching the hotel we were informed that the sauna is not working as well. By this time frankly we had given up on everything from Uniflucht already.
8 – No answers:
As a trip member, you’ll have tons of questions right about activities, itinerary, stay, expectations, predictions – not even 50% were properly answered on time. What are the chances for viewing in the lights this week? How far is the place for northern lights from hotel? When are we going to do husky ride, why are we going to snow village on day 2? Random unsatisfactory answers.
We got the clear sky on day 1 of norther lights, rest 2 days were cloudy so the whole event was canceled. No backup or alternative plans were made.
The return journey went better only because we were already aware of the issues and had set the expectations too damn low. Upon entering Germany, the drivers were changed and the tour co-ordinator again got down at Hamburg leaving us to be on our own again.
The bus came till Cologne although they could have gone to Düsseldorf and then to Cologne. At Cologne there is no facility for the mini bus to drop us back to Frankfurt or Mannheim. It took almost 2 hours for the drivers to figure out what needs to be done. And finally they took us back to Düsseldorf and gave us FlixBus tickets to Frankfurt/Mannheim.
Completely non professional, lacked planning and management at every stage of the trip. And no transparency. They could have done a 1000 things correctly just to make it bearable.
Truly disappointed and frustrated with you Uniflucht. Not sure if we are the chosen ones or other tours go through the same, but guess I would never know, as definitely I am never trying or recommending you guys to anyone else ever. Thank you for the lovely memorable experience.
